Mortgage delinquencies rose in New Mexico during the second quarter, according to an August 9 report released by the Mortgage Bankers Association.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that the delinquency rate increased from 5.6 percent in the first quarter to 6 percent in the second.

About 8,000 homeowners dropped 30-days behind on their mortgage payments between April and June, placing them at risk of foreclosure.
