The Egg and I opened it's first Albuquerque restaurant Monday.

The Duke City location marks the Denver-based eatery’s 60th restaurant. The company has a presence in 15 states.

The breakfast and lunch spot is at 6909 Menaul Blvd. NE, near Coronado Mall.

“The Albuquerque community has already welcomed us with open arms, and we can’t wait to become more involved in our new community and make new friends,” Jessica Tafoya, franchise owner of the Albuquerque location, said in a news release.

Tafoya ran The Egg & I’s Cheyenne, Wyo. location for 10 years. She plans to open at least three restaurants in the city. Tafoya said the Albuquerque location plans to grow to a staff of 35.
